Matson, Joyce Marie (Marriage - Oct. 1949)
Miss Joyce Marie Matson of Unity, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Matson of Unity, became the bride of Norbert M. Degenhardt of Unity, son of Mr. and Mrs. Degenhardt of Loyal, in a ceremony performed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby, Wisconsin by the Rev. N. B. Beschta.
The bride was dressed in a white slipper-satin gown with a sweetheart neck-line, and long sleeves coming to points over her wrists. The full veil fell from a crown of net and satin. For her bouquet she carried red and blue roses. A friend of hers, Miss Betty Brill, Colby, served as maid of honor. For the occasion she wore a blue net formal with a full skirt. A net headband completed her ensemble. She carried pink and white carnations with white mums. Arthur Edblom, Jr., Unity, was the groom’s only attendant.
After the ceremony a dinner and supper were served at the home of the bride’s parents. For the present they will reside on the bride’s parents’ farm where they will engage in farming.
