Curtiss, Wis. - Feb. 24, 1949

The Helping Hand Society will meet at the home of Mrs. Frank Glenzer.

Mrs. Walter Krueger will be hostess to the Ladies’ Aid of the Ev. and Reformed church on Wednesday, March 2nd.

Donald and Marie Kraut returned home on Monday from St. Paul where they spent several days at the ice carnival.

A daughter, Kathryn Ann, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Streib at Milwaukee, Wis. on January 31. Mrs. Streib is the former Eunice Kluve of this place.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stoltenberg and son of Codington were Sunday guests of the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hoff.

Mrs. A. J. Hennlich went to Neillsville on Thursday where she met with a committee to arrange for a Clark county postmasters’ convention.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack McCorrison and daughter, Jane, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kampe and family of Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Ole Gilbertson left on Sunday for Taylor, Wis., where he took over the flour and feed warehouse business he recently purchased. His family will leave as soon as living quarters can be obtained.

Twenty ladies attended the paper products demonstration at which Mrs. Henry Peterson was hostess on Wednesday evening, Feb. 16th.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Green of LaCrosse spent Washington’s birthday anniversary with his mother, Mrs. Minnie Green, and other relatives.

Miss Ella Schroeder, age 63, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Marshfield, on Sunday, Feb. 20th. Miss Schroeder lived at Curtiss until a few years ago when she lived with her niece, Viola Sill, at Marshfield. She came to Curtiss with her parents from Austria at the age of six *** Note: The rest of the article was cut off.
