Curtiss, Wis. - Aug. 25, 1949

The Helping Hand Society of the Congregational church will meet with Mrs. Minnie Green on Friday, August 26th.

A daughter, Susan Kay, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harley Hoff of Wausau at Memorial hospital on Tuesday, August 16th.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mattson at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, Tuesday, Aug. 16th.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Green of La Crosse spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. Minnie Green.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smiley and son, Larry, of Duluth will arrive here this week-end to spend a week’s vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Smiley and other relatives.

Rev. and Mrs. W. L. Anderson and daughter, of Rosholt, were guests over the week-end of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Laabs.

Rev. Anderson officiated at the Thompson-Graham wedding on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Matthias and family returned to their home at Ashland on Thursday after a week’s visit with the former’s mother, Mrs. Frank Matthias.

Mrs. Ralph Peterson and son, Tommy, and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Herrick spent Thursday afternoon at Wausau.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul White and sons returned to their home at Ft. Sheridan on Tuesday after a short visit with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Fahrenbach.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Matthias and family and Mrs. Frank Matthias spent Friday at Minneapolis.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith and daughter, Delores, and Mr. and Mrs. Arne Harris attended the Ringling Bros. circus at Marshfield on Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Laabs and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Hermanson will leave on Friday morning for Brooks, Ind., to spend several days with the latter’s sons, Arvid and Henry Hermanson, and families.

Mr. and Mrs. George Dunkham and Hommy of Delavan were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harlein Sunday.

Mrs. Selma Hendrickson of Duluth visited with her cousins Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Hermanson the fore part of the week.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Streit and son of Milwaukee are spending their vacation with the latter’s mother, Mrs. Helga Kluve.

Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Zimmerman of Milwaukee were guests of Mrs. Anna Tonn on Saturday.
