Wepfer, Mr./Mrs. William (50th Anniv. - 20 Dec. 1949)
Mr. and Mrs. William Wepfer celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Tuesday evening by a family reunion at their home in Colby, Wis.
Mabel Gray and William Wepfer, members of two pioneer Marshfield families, were married at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gray of Marshfield, Dec. 20, 1899, by Rev. L. Thom. In 1902, they moved to Stevens Point where Mr. Wepfer was employed by the Coye Mfg. Co. They moved onto a farm west of Colby in 1909 where they lived until four years ago when they moved to the city of Colby, Wis. Five children were born to this couple, one of whom, a daughter, Margaret, died in 1923. Living children are Harold Wepfer of Abbotsford, Mrs. Herbert (Altine) Stoltzman of Marshfield, Harold Brockhaus of Colby and Mrs. Delbert (Goldie) Klepzig of Stetsonville. All were present with their families at the celebration. There are eight grand children.
The honored couple were presented with gifts from relatives and friends at the reunion, among the gifts being 50 silver dollars from their family.
