Wicker, Frank (28 Mar. 1871 - 12 Mar. 1949)
Frank Wicker died at Colby, Wisconsin Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock at the age of 78 years of old age complications. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Methodist church in Colby, Wis., Rev. F. J. Smith officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Harry Wescott, Glen Wescott, Delmer Wicker, Norman Marsh, Lawrence Patterson and Donald Patterson.
The deceased was born on March 28, 1871, in Washington county and came to Marathon county with his parents when a year old. He was married October 31, 1894, in the town of Eau Pleine to Miss Adella Wescott. They operated a farm until 1943 when they moved to Colby, Wis. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World.
Surviving are his widow and seven children - Harold Wicker of Stratford, Kenneth Wicker of Milwaukee, Vernon and Elmer Wicker, Miss Evelyn Wicker and Mrs. Earl Robertson of Colby and Mrs. Marion Erickson of Clyman. Also a sister and two brothers - Mrs. Nettie Castner of Marshfield, and George and Thomas Wicker of Colby, Wis. There are 19 grand children and three great grand children.
Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Wicker and son, Frank, of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wicker and daughter, Doris, of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Edval Erickson and daughters, Idella and Marion, and son, Phillip, of Clyman, Mrs. Nettie Castner and daughter, Jeanette of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Wickman and Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Wicker of Loyal, Mrs. Bernice Patterson, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Patterson and Donald Patterson of Medford, Harvey Wescott and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wescott of Unity, Mrs. Anna Wescott of Spencer, Mrs. Jos. LaVigue and son of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Myron Busche and son, Rodney and daughter, Beverly, of Wausau.
