In loving memory of our dear son and brother, Lorrin Ivan Peterson, who gave his life for his country on April 24, 1945.

He little thought when leaving home,

He would return no more;

That he in death so soon would sleep

And leave us here to mourn.

We do not know what pain he bore,

We did not see him die;

We only know he passed away,

And could not say goodbye.
