Wescott, Gordon Sprague (4 May 1900 - 31 Oct. 1949)
Gordon Sprague Wescott, son of the late Thos. M. Wescott, and Lucilla Wescott Hutton, passed away Monday, Oct. 31st, at 12 noon, at the Grace Hospital at Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. Hutton were called to Detroit and reached his bedside before he passed away. All that medical skill and loving hands could do were of no avail. He was laid to rest in Cadillac Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Wescott was born on May 4th, 1900, in the town of Eau Pleine, Marathon county. In February, 1920, he left Colby to try his fortunes in the big city of Detroit and was an electrician for the Ford Motor Co. at the time of his death. On July 26, 1944, he was united in marriage with Helen Schwalm of Pigeon, Mich., by Rev. Norton of Trinity M. E. church, Highland Park, Detroit.
Surviving are his wife; his mother, Mrs. Fred Hutton of Colby; one sister, Mrs. W. E. (Irma) Maier, and three nephews, Eugene D. Herbert D. and Gerald Byron, Maier.
