Zettler, Ronald (28 July 1936 - 4 Dec. 1949)

Ronald Zettler, 13 year-old rheumatic fever patient whose illness and desire for Christmas cards was reported in the Phonograph last week, died at 6:40 P.M. Sunday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Zettler, in the town of Frankfort. However, he received the cheering cards he asked for last week - hundreds of Christmas and get-well cards. Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the North Spencer cemetery. Pall bearers were Melvin Leffel, George Vrana, Stanley Vrana, Sylvester Sazama, Wallace Hamann and Ralph Hamann.

Ronald was born July 28, 1936, in the town of Brighton. He moved to his present home in 1941 with his parents and attended Hillcrest school when his health permitted.

The deceased was an obedient, studious and cheerful lad who always endeavored to do his best. His death comes as a dark shadow to friends and relatives.

Surviving are his parents, a brother, George, and two sisters, Mary Ann and Janet, all at home. Also his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Habeck of Colby and Mrs. Frank Beyerl of the town of Colby, Wis. A brother preceded him in death.
