Nowak, Mrs. Andrew (25 Dec 1855 - 7 Sep 1942)
Funeral services were conducted this morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, town of Holway, for Mrs. Andrew Nowak, 87, who died at the home of her son, Ignatz, Monday.
She was born in Poland, Dec. 25, 1855, and came to America in 1913, and lived in Chicago for about three months, after which she and her husband moved to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), where she has since resided. Her husband preceded her in death in 1928. She was the mother of twelve sons, four of which died in infancy and three who had become of age. She is survived by five sons, Frank living in Poland, Stanley in France, Martin, Thomas and Ignatz of Owen. Also there are twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The cause of her death was attributes to old age, as she had enjoyed good health up until a few days before her passing.
The pallbearers were Joseph Sabath, Joseph Kowalewski, Anton Sapetta, John Stasek, George Hamm, Frank Pawlukiewicz and Sylvester Maeiejewski.
Those from away who came to attend the funeral were: Mrs. Andrew Talupniki and Mrs. Stanley Nowicki, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Yeski, Wild Rose; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hill, Ladysmith, and Vickie Nowak, Evanston, Ill.
