Gabus, Margaret R. (Marriage - 18 AUG 1941)
A quiet wedding ceremony was performed on Monday, Aug. 18, by the Rev. C. E. Dowd at St. Patrick’s parsonage when Margaret R. Gabus, daughter of Louis Gabus of Eau Claire, became the bride of Robert A. Baldwin of Piedmont, S. D., son of Mrs. Selma Baldwin of Eau Claire.
The bride, dressed in a navy blue sheer with matching accessories, wore a corsage of pink rosebuds. Her attendant, Mrs. R. L. Rossman, wearing a brown crepe with matching accessories, had a corsage of tea roses.
The groom, attired in a suit of aviation blue, wore a boutonniere of white chrysanthemums. His attendant, R. L. Rossman, attired in a dark suit, had a boutonniere of white carnation.
Following the service a wedding breakfast was served to the bridal party and immediate relatives. A large wedding cake was the centerpiece of the table.
The bride is a graduate of the Eau Claire high school. The groom was graduated from the Owen high school, the County Normal in Rice Lake, and the Eau Claire State Teachers college.
The bridal couple left for Newell, S. D., where the groom will teach this coming year.
Pre-nuptial events included a shower by the employees of the H. L. Green company who presented the bride with a purse of money.
