Schoeneman, Richard (24 MAY 1857 - 15 SEP 1942)

Richard Schoeneman, 85, died Tuesday morning at his home at Milan, Wis., the result of old age complications. Funeral services will be conducted at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Curtiss, Rev. M.C. Goetsch officiating, and interment will take place in the Pink Hill Cemetery, Curtiss. The body will lie in state at the Rudy Haderlein home, Milan.

Mr. Schoeneman was born in Germany May 24, 1857, and was educated there. He came to America in 1896, settling on a farm in Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.). In 1924 he retired and moved to Curtiss, leaving there in 1939 to make his home with his granddaughter, Mrs. Rudy Haderlein, at Milan.

A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mr. Schoeneman is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lena Kisten of Kenosha, and Mrs. Ida Edwards of Medford.

He was preceded in death by his wife, who died in 1932, and two sons and two daughters.

Pallbearers at the funeral will be Fred Machlett, Fred Laabs, Fred Thieme, Franklin Tonn, John Haderlein, and Paul Benzman.
