Arp, Leo (10 JUL 1905 - 7 OCT 1942)

Leo Arp was born on July 10, 1905 at Davenport, Iowa, and passed away after a long illness at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield on Oct. 7, 1942 at 5:30 in the afternoon.

When seven years old he came to Wisconsin with his parents to the town of Beaver in Clark County. It was here that he received his education and grew to young manhood.

On Nov. 21, 1929 at Winona, Minn., he was united in marriage to Vera Hunerjager of the town of Maplehurst, to which union three children were born, one daughter having preceded him in death.

He will be remembered as being employed at various places around Owen during the past 14 years.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, two daughters, Arlene and Ruth Ann, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Arp, one brother, Charles of Delhi, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Erwin Marden (Ethel) of Neillsville, Mrs. Kenneth Dyre (Leora) of Greenwood, and a host of relatives.

Funeral services were held from Griebenow Funeral Home on Oct. 10, the Rev. K.L. Matthews officiating. Interment was at Riverside.

Rev. and Mrs. K.L. Matthews sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "The Beautiful City."

The pallbearers were: Verland Barrett, William Mattson, Frank Taylor, Clarence Pyatt, Chester Low, and Forrest Proctor.

Among those who attended the funeral were Robert Arp and Miss Carried Arp of Davenport, Iowa.
