The Danish Lutheran Church at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) was the scene of a pretty church wedding Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock, Nov. 14, 1942, when Miss Alice Esther Sorensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Axel Sorensen, became the bride of Cpl. Einer M. Andersen, 316th Air Base Squadron, Fort George Wright, Wash., and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Andersen of Owen. The Rev. Bundgaard of the Danish Lutheran Church officiating.
The young couple were attended by Miss Helga Andersen, a sister of the groom, and Lester Hansen, a close friends of the contracting parties. The bride’s gown was of white taffeta brocade, and the bridesmaids gown was of blue taffeta brocade. The groom was dressed in his army uniform, while the best man wore the conventional blue suit. The church decorations were of blue and white.
The bride is a graduate of the Withee High School of the class of 1942, and the groom attended the Owen Schools.
A reception and dinner was held at the home of the bride’s parents, at seven o’clock that evening, after which the young couple left by car for their new home at Spokane, Wash.
Those from away who came to attend the wedding were, Miss Agnes Andersen, Oregon, Wis., Pvt. Weber, Ft. George Wright, Wash., and Mrs. K. Hansen, Joyce and Jane Nielsen, of Minneapolis.
The young people have the well wishes of their numerous friends here for a long and happy wedded life.
