Haavisto, Willard W. (1915 - 8 APR 1943)

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 1 o’clock from the Finnish Lutheran Church for Willard William Haavisto, 27, son of Mrs. Hilja Haavisto of the town of Longwood (Clark Co. Wis.), whose death occurred Thursday evening.

The young man had been in ill health, and late that afternoon went to the rive fishing, just back of their farm home, and while away had a fainting spell, from which he did not recover. His body was found the following morning a short distance from the river bank, where he had fallen.

He is survived by his mother, and four brothers, John of Duluth, Albert in the U.S. Army stationed on the west coast, and Eino and Adolph of Owen, and four sisters, Lena, Ely, Minn., Mrs. Leonard Simon, Owen, Mrs. George Hassek, Chicago, and Mrs. Marvin Roberts, Mill City.

Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.
