Stitt, Robert "Bob" Eugene (31 December 1931 - 13 February 2008)

Robert "Bob" Eugene Stitt, 77, of Neillsville passed away February 13, 2008, at Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta, where he has resided since May of 2006.

Bob was born in Benton Harbor, MI, December 31, 1931, to Elmer and Olive Stitt. He was married to his wife, Judy (Wood) for 27 years and had two sons, three daughters, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was in the Navy during the Korean Conflict, serving in both Key West, FL, and Kingsville, TX. After four years of service, he lived in Napoleon, MI, where he helped develop a patent on a cricket dispenser used for fishing bait. He worked for numerous years at Aeroquip Corp., Jackson, MI, and then in 1974, the Stitt family relocated from Michigan to Wisconsin to operate the Riviera Supper Club.

Bob is survived by two sons and three daughters, Kevin (Pam) Stitt of Neillsville, Kelly (Teri) Stitt of West Salem, Kathy (Corky) Kuhry and Penny (David) Ludeman of Black River Falls and Leah Shelide of Tampa, FL. His grand-children include Elliott, Kayla and Jodi Stitt of Neillsville, Keenan and Wyatt Stitt of west Salem, Ashlee Kuhry of Milwaukee, Leah Kuhry of Black River Falls, Erin Shelide of Hartland, MI, Emily (Shane) Adams and Abigale Shelide of Tampa, FL, Officer Mathew Koran of Black River Falls and Lt. j. g. Lucas Koran of Kingsville, TX. Bob also has two great-grandchildren: Owen Wilson of Hartland, MI, and Christian Stitt of West Salem. His surviving siblings are brothers Charles and Ralph Stitt of Michigan, sisters Elenora Trumble and Joyce Smith of Arizona and sister Marilyn of California. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Shortly following his death, Bob was cremated, and per his wishes his ashes will be distributed in the mountains of Montana later this year. (For you are dust and to dust you shall return. Gen. 3:19) A memorial gathering will take place prior to Bob’s final trip to Montana; time and details will be announced at a later date.
