Wilson, John William (2 July 1932 - 2 February 2008)
John William Wilson, 75, of Buena Vista, CO, died February 2, 2008, at his residence in Buna Vista, surrounded by his family.
John was born July 2, 1932, in Neillsville to Frank H. and Clara G. (Markwardt) Wilson.
He served in the U. S. Army as a corporal in the Korean Conflict. John was stationed at Camp Hale when discharged from the army in December 1954.
John met the love of his life, Irene Bowman, in 1957, while working at Hocket Motors. They married May 31, 1958, and began a family. John spent his career doing mechanical work for Hocket, Bart Bartolas, Vincent Marcella and Tim Shinard in Leadville, CO, until he retired in 1997.
John and Irene moved to Buena Vista in 1991, where he enjoyed gardening and taking care of their yard. He loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends and just spending time with his loving wife.
He is survived by his wife Irene; son Ronald (Patricia) Wrenfro of Leadville, CO; daughter Lila (Art) Brossiett of Pasadena, TX; daughter Paula Neace of Kingsford, OK; son David (Caroldean) Wilson of Buena Vista, CO; daughter Tina (Charlie) Campbell of Leadville, CO; sister Catherine (Wieting) Drescher of Neillsville; and brother Charles Wilson of Cambridge, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Clara (Markwardt) Wilson; brother, Frank J. Wilson; and sisters Mary Wilson, Agnes Blankenship, Cecelia Langreck, and Hilda Richmond.
A Memorial Service was held at the home of John and Irene Wilson in Buena Vista Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at 2 p.m. A private cremation service was held.
