Antonia was born in Snietnica, Ukraine, on Oct. 30, 1913, the daughter of Dmytro and Marie (Kopschanka) Hoc. In 1940, she moved to Austria and in 1942 to Munich, Germany, where she worked as a housekeeper at the YMCA until 1949 when she left for the United States. She was met at Boston Harbor by a nun and the next day she took a train to Herkimer, N.Y., where she worked as a seamstress. Antonia was united in marriage to Eustachij Hanuszczak on March 3, 1951, in the Greek Orthodox Church. They moved to Chicago and then settled in Granton in January 1955 to farm. Antonia loved the farm, gardening and was a Packers fan but her greatest love was her children and grandchildren.
She will be remembered as a very special lady. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and also attended the Ukranian Orthodox Church on Highway W.
She is survived by four sons, Ostap Hanuszczak, Lubo (Patty) Hanuszczak, Slavko Hanuszczak, all of Neillsville, and Bohdan (Sandy) Hanuszczak of Granton; seven grandchildren, Sarah Hanuszczak, Jason (Nicole) Hanuszczak, Jesse Hanuszczak, Autumn Hanuszczak, Amanda Hanuszczak, Kristen Hanuszczak and Korey Hanuszczak.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five brothers and four sisters. The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Antonia's family with arrangements.
