Fricke, Yvonne (Marriage - 27 May 1950)
Miss Yvonne Fricke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fricke of Curtiss, and Arthur Lokken, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lokken, also of Curtiss, exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony at the Episcopal church at Owen Saturday, May 27, Rev. Crosby reading the double ring ceremony before the altar which was decorated with red roses and white snapdragons.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white net fashioned with long sleeves and a long lace train, trimmed with orange blossoms. Clusters of orange blossoms held the lace head piece to which her shoulder length veil was fastened. She carried a large bouquet of red roses.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was her cousin, Miss Shirley Larson, of Marshfield. Lester Krueger, a friend of the couple, was best man. Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Laabs also attended the couple.
The bride’s attendants wore identical frocks of sheer over taffeta with long mitts and matching bouquets. Miss Larson wore pale orchid and carried a bouquet of orchid and white carnations. Mrs. Laabs wore aqua and carried a similar bouquet of aqua and white carnations. Both wore rhinestone necklaces, the gift of the bride.
The mothers of the bridal group wore navy ensembles, with white accessories and a corsage of red roses.
After the ceremony, a reception, which was attended by about 200 guests, was held at the church hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Lokken are making their home in Minneapolis where both are employed. Mr. Lokken is a graduate of the Owen High School, class of 1944, and Mrs. Lokken graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1949.
