Hawks, Emmett (9 APR 1877 - 22 JUN 1943)
Emmett Allen Hawks, 66, who moved to Abbotsford, Wisconsin last August from the home farm north of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 2:30 o’clock Tuesday, June 22, 1943, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been taken Sunday.
Mr. Hawks was born in the Town of Hoard April 9, 1877, and was married in Taylor County June 27, 1900, to Myra Folsom. He was educated in Clark County and also attended Colby High School.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Reuben (Irene) Tronson, Chicago; a son, Allan F. Hawks, Curtiss; and seven grandchildren. One grandson, Cpl. Thomas Keith Tronson, is stationed at Camp Davis, Va.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church at Abbotsford, Wis. The Rev. Gereau of Withee officiated. Interment was made in the Dorchester Cemetery.
