A quiet wedding was performed at St. Katherine’s Church in Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) on Saturday, July 17, 1943, when Miss Grace Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans P.C. Hansen of Withee, became the bride of S/Sgt. Kenneth Barthell of Peoria, Ill. The groom had been stationed in Iceland with the Coast Artillery for the past 16 months. Velma Hansen, sister of the bride was bridesmaid, and Harry Hansen, brother of the bride, was best man.
