Glenzer, Hattie Theresa (12 Oct. 1880 - 25 May 1950)

Mrs. Hattie Theresa Glenzer passed away at Chicago, Ill., last Thursday, May 25, at 9:45 A.M. Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran church Sunday afternoon, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Green Grove cemetery. Nephews acted as pall bearers and were Donald Sommer, Vernon Sommer, Marilyn Sommer, Elmer Schuette, Harley Hardrath and Ralph Woik.

Mrs. Glenzer was born in the town of Green Grove, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Sommer who came here from Germany, on October 12th, 1880, thus reaching the age of 69 years, seven months and 13 days. She was married to Richard Glenzer, who preceded her in death, in Green Grove on December 21, 1901. She was visiting her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Janda of Brookfield, Ill., when she became ill.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Joseph Janda of Brookfield, Ill., and four brothers and two sisters - Ernest Woik, Anton Woik, Paul Woik and Alvin Woik, all of Green Grove, Mrs. J. McLoughlin and Mrs. Frank Nedley of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Also surviving are Richard Janda, a grand son, Mrs. Raymond Miller of Stevens Point; a niece who was raised to womanhood at the Glenzer home.

Mrs. Glenzer was a good Christian, honest in all her dealings and of a pleasant disposition who always endeavored to perform her duties to the best of her ability.

Out of town people here for the funeral, besides her daughter and family, were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nedley, Mr. and Mrs. John McLaughlin and family and Mr. and Mrs. Norwood Krueger and family, all of Milwaukee, Mrs. James Janda of Brookfield, Ill., William and Otto Sommer of Neenah, Mr. and Mrs. R. Moeller of Bancroft, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Miller and Barbara, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Glenzer, Mr. and Mrs. John Falkavage of Stevens Point and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wachsmuth and Violet Woik of Wausau.
