Frome, Charles H. (29 Dec. 1870 - 8 June 1950)
Charles H. Frome, a former resident of Colby, died at his home in Manitowoc last Thursday morning, June 8, at 10:40 P.M. after a lingering illness at the age of 79 years. Funeral services were held at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby Monday afternoon, Rev. F. J. Smith, pastor of the Colby Methodist church, officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Nephews acted as pall bearers.
Mr. Frome was born in Johnsonville, Sheboygan county, on Dec. 29, 1870. He moved to Colby with his parents in 1883. He was married in 1899 to Louise Mais. He operated a tavern in Colby until 15 years ago when he and Mrs. Frome moved to Manitowoc.
Surviving are his widow; two children, Mrs. O. E. (Leone) Johnson of Kenosha and Mrs. G. A. (Violeta) Spiering of Manitowoc; two brothers, Louis and Hugo of Colby; two sisters, Mrs. Ambrose Steinwand and Mrs. Ida Tesmer of Colby; and three grand sons. One son preceded him in death.
Out of town people here for the funeral were Mrs. Leone Johnson and son and Duane Buchholz of Kenosha, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Spiering and son, Robert, and Mrs. H. Eck of Manitowoc, Mrs. Paul Mais of Medford, Henry Frome of Phillips and Mrs. Joe Scholl of Pewaukee.
