Raymond Joseph Pawlicki was born on October 13, 1943 in Stanley, the son of Joseph and Sophie (Siudak) Pawlicki. He was raised in the Bellinger area, where he attended Bellinger School and graduated from Thorp High School in 1962. During high school Ray began working as a mechanic at Schmidt Chevrolet in Thorp, which later became Wifler Chevrolet. On October 2, 1964 he joined the Wisconsin National Guard and served until October 1, 1970. Ray was united in marriage to Carol A. Grajek on October 9, 1965 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. He continued to work at Wifler Chevrolet until starting his own business at home, Ray’s Body Shop, in 1974. Ray operated his business until retiring in 2005.

He was a member of the Blue Angels Car Club and had many interests, but especially enjoyed collecting and working on cars, fixing lawnmowers and small engines, building demolition cars for his sons and nephews, and he loved his cats.

Ray will be sadly missed by his wife, Carol of Thorp; two sons: Jeffrey "Cooter" Pawlicki of Thorp and Ryan (Carol) Pawlicki of Marshfield; two daughters: Tina (Russ) Patten of new Richmond and Mindy (Andrew) Eggen of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren: Bryanna and Kendall Pawlicki, Brittani, Mykenzie and Ashley Patten, Alison Eggen, and Sylvia Heling; his parents, Joe (Sophie) Pawlicki of Thorp; two sisters: Theresa (Joe) Bielecki of Thorp and Marcie (Dale) Boie of Thorp; his mother-in-law, Anna Grajek of Lublin; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas, on January 7, 1990 and his father-in-law, Anton Grajek, on July 3, 1988.

Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
