Shefchik, Evelyn (Marriage - 21 June 1951)

A nuptial high mass was celebrated Thursday morning at 9:00 o’clock at St. Anthony’s Catholic church in Loyal, Wisconsin for Miss Evelyn Shefchik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. J. Shefchik of Loyal, and Peter J. Beyerl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Beyerl of Colby, Wis. She was given in marriage by her father and the pastor, Rev. Norbert King, officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride chose for her wedding gown white chiffon over satin. The French lace inserts in the skirt extended into the train and also trimmed the bodice. The finger-tip veil of imported silk illusion fell from a bonnet of Chantilly lace trimmed in pearl orange blossom clusters. She carried a shower bouquet of red roses and swansonia.

Mrs. Irene Braun of Loyal was her sister’s matron of honor. She wore an orchid taffeta dress accented with lace trimmed ruffle and cap sleeves and matching picture hat and gauntlets. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and yellow carnations. Miss Carole Slaby of Madison, a cousin of the bride, as bridesmaid, wore yellow taffeta designed like the matron of honor’s dress and matching picture hat and gauntlets. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and yellow carnations.

Dr. Gerald Beyerl of Marshfield, cousin of the groom, served as best man while Leo Shefchik of Loyal, brother of the bride, acted as groomsman. Richard Herrman of Colby and Edward Shefchik of Loyal ushered.

A breakfast was served the bridal party at the home of Mrs. Irene Braun after the ceremony. Following the dinner, served at the home of the bride’s parents, a reception was held from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Later in the evening, a wedding dance was given at the Walter pavilion at Colby, Wis.

The bride’s mother was attired in navy blue with pink accessories while the groom’s mother chose beige with white accessories. Both wore corsages of roses and carnations.

Mrs. Beyerl, a graduate of the Loyal High School, had been employed in the office of the Roddis Plywood Corporation for the past two and one-half years. Her husband, a graduate of Colby High School, is engaged in farming.

Relatives and friends from Milwaukee, Two Rivers, Manitowoc, Tisch Mills, Colby, Marshfield and Chippewa Falls attended the wedding.
