Ostenson, Frederick (22 SEP 1853 - 25 OCT 1943)

Frederick Ostenson, age 90, a pioneer resident living one-half mile east of the village of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away Monday evening, Oct. 25, 1943, at 10:30 p.m., following a stroke which he suffered late that afternoon. He was born in Norway, Sept. 22, 1853, and came to America as a young man and settled on the home farm, where he has lived ever since.

Surviving are two sons, Melvin Ostenson of Mayville township (Clark Co.), Roy at home, and three daughters, Mrs. Carla Sturner of Stanley, Edith and Christine at home. His wife preceded him in February 1929. There are three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, from the home at 1:30 p.m., and at the Evangelical Church at 2:00 p.m., with burial in the family lot in the church cemetery. Rev. G.E. Borreson will officiate at the rites.
