Unity, Wis. - July 19, 1951

Glen Kilty escaped with minor injuries at his farm when his overalls caught in a hay chopper. He received a cut on one leg and bruises on the other.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Leffel and family of Milwaukee, spent the past week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Leffel.

Five picnic tables were delivered to the county park south of Unity, by the Marathon county park commissioner. Playground equipment has been installed for the children. The park is becoming very popular for picnics and family gatherings.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schade of Milwaukee spent the past week with the latter’s mother, Mrs. Leonard Nickel, and other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. George S. Cook and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ravy returned from the Cook cottage at Manitowish Waters.

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Bezak of Milwaukee are visiting their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Bezak, Jr.

Mrs. Seymour Gustafson is convalescing at home with a broken collar bone received when she fell from a load of hay. She was taken to the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital for examination and was released the following day.

George Miller, Jr., tore the nail from one of his fingers last week and went to the Colby clinic to have it dressed. Several days later, he fell against a post in his barn and fractured two ribs.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Tennis and children, Janice and Jerome, spent several days in Northern Wisconsin.

The Enterprise Homemakers Club will entertain the Cherokee Club at Cherokee Park on July 24 instead of July 17 as previously planned.

Mr. and Mrs. John Martin of Dodgeville, who are spending their honeymoon at their cottage at Crescent Lake, near Rhinelander, visited the latter’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wieland, and other relatives Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schade returned to Milwaukee Saturday after spending a week at the Leonard Nickel home and with other relatives.

Edward Winkler visited his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Winkler, Jr., at Laona last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Osbjorn Christofferson and daughter, Bonnie, of Ogema, Miss Donnafaye Phillips of Reedsburg and Andrew Maata, Jr., of Milwaukee visited at the Nyole Creed home Sunday.
