Local Happenings in Colby and Vicinity - Sept. 6, 1951

Marvin Kistler of Jaite, Ohio, spent the week-end with his family in Colby, Wis.

Jerry Allmann of Libertyville, Ill., spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. Lily Allmann.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gries and Mrs. ? Koenig of Sheboygan spent the week-end with relatives in Colby, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Dell Coleman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin spent Saturday with the latter’s aunt, Mrs. A. L. Schemmer.

Mr. and Mrs. Arno Schuette and family of Manitowoc spent the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. [the article did not finish the sentence]

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Emil Fleischauer, Jr., of Stevens Point at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital August 30.

Mrs. Alma Roohr and Mr. and Mrs. John Schmidt of Owatonna, Minn., spent Saturday, Sunday and Monday in Colby, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Byrne Neville of Milwaukee spent the week-end with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Schwantes.

Mr. and Mrs. Myron Kneiss of Day, Ark., are spending several days this week in Colby, Wisconsin on business and visiting relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. A. X. Umhoefer, Mrs. Bernard Tennis and Edward Reyer left last Thursday for a week’s fishing trip in Canada.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilde and children of Milwaukee visited the past week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James P. Wilde, Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Alioto and children of Milwaukee are spending this week with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Pokallus.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nystrom left Saturday for California where they will visit their son, Ralph, who is in service with the U.S. Navy.

Miss Janet Ann Flick returned to New Holstein after spending the week-end at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Flick.

Mr. and Mrs. George Meyer of Ashland are visiting at the home of the former’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meyer.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mellenthin and Mrs. Donald Barr spent a week at Camp Gordon, Georgia, with Pfc. Donald Barr who is stationed there.

The Misses Helen, Lillyan and Hildegarde Rankel returned to Chicago after spending two weeks with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
