Unity, Wis. - Dec. 20, 1951

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ravey of Plainfield spent several days at the George Cook home.

Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Hederer visited several days in Bakersville with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nickles Hederer.

Miss Barbara Hederer is now employed at the Everett Capes home in Marshfield.

Christopher Korntved of Grand Marais, Minn., spent the past week with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Korntved.

Mr. and Mrs. Franklin T. Hebert are visiting at the home of the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hebert, in the town of Brighton. Franklin graduated last week from the Naval Training Station at Great Lakes, Ill., as a dental apprentice. At the expiration of his leave, he will report to Parris Island, S.C., and Mrs. Hebert will return to Racine.

A son, Paul, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Burt of New Holstein at Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. Mrs. Burt is the former Phyllis Fahlgren and grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Fuller.

George Cook and William McNeight attended the adjourned session of the Marathon county board of supervisors at Wausau Tuesday.

Mrs. Joseph Williams arrived from Kiel to spend the Christmas holidays with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Williams.

Mrs. Herbert Kanter left for Milwaukee last week Wednesday to visit her son, Donald Kanter, and family. Mrs. Kanter was called by illness in her son’s family.

Members and friends of the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid Society met Wednesday afternoon for the Christmas party. Mrs. Lester Ewert was elected president; Mrs. Victor Dallman, vice president; Mrs. Merlin Justman, secretary; and Mrs. Frank Meyer, treasurer. Mrs. Meyer has held the office of treasurer for 14 consecutive years. Chairmen of the three groups gave their reports of the amounts earned throughout the year. The total amount was $580. The Rev. Charles Witt, Marshfield, presented the Christmas story. Gifts were exchanged and lunch served.

The Unity Tigers were defeated by the Marshfield National Guards at Unity Sunday night by a score of 53 to 52. The Tigers team consisted of Helixon, Schultz, Vandehey, Nowitzke, Rudy, Swanson, Mulvahill.
