Firnstahl, Mr./Mrs. Michael (60th - 16 Apr. 1951)
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Firnstahl arrived in Colby from Niles, Mich., and are making their home with their nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Firnstahl. They will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary next Monday, Apr. 16th, with a high mass at St. Mary’s Catholic church at 9:00 A.M. They enjoy it in Colby, their old home town which they left 30 years ago. They will be glad to meet all their old friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Firnstahl, who make their home with their nephew, Herbert Firnstahl, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a high mass at St. Mary’s Catholic church Monday.
Mr. Firnstahl was born in Austria Hungary on September 27th, 1865, and came to the United States in 1875. Mrs. Firnstahl, nee Catherine Leichtnam, was born on January 24th, 1868, in St. Nazianz. They were married on April 16th, 1891, in St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby, by Rev. Weikmann. Mr. Firnstahl is a plasterer by trade but is retired on account of his health and is blind. They lived in Colby 47 years, in Evanston, Ill., 17 years and in Niles, Mich., 14 years. Mr. Firnstahl is 85 years of age and Mrs. Firnstahl is 83.
Mr. and Mrs. Firnstahl had seven children - six of whom are still living - Edmund of Fortuna, Calif., Mrs. Sylvia Neikerens of Chicago, Ill., Urban Firnstahl of Niles, Mich., Mrs. Hermina Wilkenson of Evanston, Ill., Mrs. Madglen Cline of Osceda, Ind., Mrs. Mathilda Chapman of Niles, Mich. Private Raymond Firnstahl was killed in action in the first World War on October 9th, 1919, in France. They have 12 grand children and 11 great grand children.
