Becherer, Mr./Mrs. William (50th Anniv. - 17 Oct. 1951)

Mr. and Mrs. William Becherer observed their golden wedding anniversary with "open house" at their home last week Wednesday. Bouquets of yellow mums, gold streamers and bells decorated the home. Two of their wedding attendants, Ernest Schumacher of Chioko, Minn., and Mrs. Fred Kruschke of Gillett were present for the occasion. Other attendants were Mrs. Becherer’s sister, Mrs. Pauline Keagbein of Fairfax, Minn., who was unable to be present because of ill health, and William Dickmeyer, who is deceased. Dinner and supper were served immediate relatives and friends.

Mrs. Floyd Schumacher of Rosholt, S.D., poured coffee in the afternoon and Mrs. Bernard Tichey of Milwaukee, another niece, poured coffee in the evening. Patricia Becherer, their oldest grand daughter, was in charge of the guest book.

After 9:00 o’clock, relatives played "500" and pinochle. Prizes were awarded.

On Monday night, the Becherers entertained neighbors and friends. They served wine, cigars, punch, beer, soft drinks and later lunch. Seven tables of cards were in play. Prize winners were Mrs. Lue Schultz and Willard Becherer, first; Johanna Schultz and Louis Justman, second; Mrs. Louis Justman and William Felker, low; Mrs. Chas. Schultz, general.
