Jakel, Charles William (6 Nov. 1881 - 6 Feb. 1951)
Funeral services for Charles William Jakel, age 69, of Curtiss, Wisconsin, who died at his home Tuesday evening, Feb. 6, of a heart attack, were held Friday, Feb. 9, at 2:00 P.M. from Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at Curtiss, Rev. Franz P. Puhlmann officiating. Mrs. Puhlmann, accompanied by Mrs. Elroy Krueger, sang "Precious Lord Take My Hand" and "Jesus is Tenderly Calling Me Home." Burial was made at Pine Hill Cemetery. Pall bearers were Melvin Ostenson, Walter Lueth, Sr., Henry Johnson, Henry Peterson, Henry House and John Michlig. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Harry Laabs, Mrs. Paul Fricke, Mrs. George Murphy, Mrs. Franz Peissig, Mrs. Lester Bowen, Mrs. Herbert Fahrenbach, Arlene and Geraldine Krueger.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anna Wacmuth Jakel and eight children - Arnold Jakel of Milwaukee, Robert Jakel of Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dale and Dennis at home, Mrs. Elaine Hermanson of Brook, Ind., Mrs. Lucille Stiner of Kingfisher, Okla., and Miss Beatrice, at home. Also one brother, William Jakel, of Dorchester, Wis. One son, Elmer, preceded him in death.
