Hoppa, Frank Everett (7 Aug. 1874 - 16 Aug. 1951)

Frank Everett Hoppa, a former Colby resident, died at the home of his son, Arnold, of Neillsville, route 3, Thursday morning at the age of 77 years. Funeral services were held in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Neillsville Saturday morning, Rev. John Novak officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mr. Hoppa was born on August 7, 1874, in Germany and came to the United States with his parents when a child. His marriage to Martha Scheiber took place in Chicago on July 14, 1895. After their marriage, they lived in Milan, and a few years later, they moved to Colby where they lived until her death 11 years ago. Since that time, he made his home with his son. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary’s Catholic church.

Surviving are two sons, Arnold of Neillsville and George of Milwaukee; four daughters, Mrs. A. C. (Margaret) Collier of San Cruz, Calif., Mrs. Donald (Mildred) Schultz of Stratford, Mrs. Herbert (Lucille) Firnstahl of Colby and Mrs. Harold (Rose) Reeves of Abbotsford; 15 grand children and eight great grand children.
