Rydberg, Gustaf A. (1 Oct. 1877 - 24 Aug. 1951)
Gustaf A. Rydberg died at his home in Unity Friday morning at the age of 73 years after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Trinity Lutheran church in Unity, Rev. Charles Witt officiating, and burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery there.
Mr. Rydberg was born on October 1, 1877, in Smaland, Sweden. He came to the United States on May 3, 1895, at the age of 18 and settled at Joliet, Ill. He was married to Emma Melander in Chicago on May 22, 1903, where they resided until they moved onto a farm near Unity in 1919. In March, 1945, they moved into the village after he retired.
Surviving are his wife and five daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Louise) Lynch of Chicago, Mrs. Roy (Ruth) Johnson of Downers Grove, Ill., Mrs. Lawrence (Margaret) Rinn of Whitewater, Mrs. Peter (Mable) Pebomka of Fort Atkinson, Mrs. Ervin (Dorothy) Bores of Marshfield. Also nine grand children and one great grand child.
