Schulte, Arthur W. (13 Jan. 1884 - 3 Sept. 1951)
Arthur W. Schulte, age 67, 218 William St., Wausau, Wis., died Monday night, Sept. 3, in a Wausau hospital after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Sept. 7, at the Trinity Lutheran church in Wausau of which he was a member. Rev. Lerey Kaepe officiated. Internment was made in the Green Grove cemetery in the town of Colby, Clark county. Pall bearers were Rueben Schulte, Gordon Domer, Edgar and Melvin Buchholz, Royal Awe and Harry Lipprandt.
A native of Colby, Mr. Schulte was born on January 13, 1884, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schulte. He was married in Colby, Wisconsin on November 7, 1906, to Miss Josephine Awe who survives. A cheesemaker by trade for 47 years, he retired last October.
Surviving, besides the widow, are a son, Myron, of Wausau; five daughters, the Misses Viola and Annabelle, at home, Mrs. Werner Dahl of Cumberland; Mrs. Roy Tewksbury and Mrs. Ralph Schilling of Wausau; a brother, Charles Schulte of Abbotsford; three sisters, Mrs. Louisa Buchholz of Curtiss, Mrs. Frieda Awe of Owen and Mrs. Delia Zumach of Racine. Also 12 grand children. One son, Walter, a sister, a brother, a half-brother and four half-sisters preceded him in death.
