Sapa, Paul (25 JAN 1863 - 7 APR 1943)
Paul Sapa, a former resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), who moved to Minneapolis in 1937, died at St. Mary’s Hospital in that city on April 7th, 1943, after a short illness. He had reached the age of 81 years.
Mr. Sapa was born in Poland, Jan. 25, 1863. He came to America in 1888 and in 1903 moved to the Town of Withee where he operated a farm, retiring in 1924 and moving to Thorp village.
He was united in marriage to Mary Sturen? In Chicago in 1890, Mrs. Sapa preceding him in death several years ago, and one son, Walter died in 1931.
He is survived by two sons, Chas. Of Milwaukee, and John of Minneapolis; and two daughters, Mrs. Jos. (Josephine) Rogus of Greenwood and Mrs. Julian (Katherine) Cisek of Minneapolis.
The body was brought to Thorp on Saturday and lay in state at the Thorp Funeral Home until the time of the funeral which was held at St. Hedwig’s Church at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 12th, Rev. F. Piekarski officiating. Interment was made in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were: Val Dobryzynski, Andrew Zarada, John Nowobielski, Vin. Grzigorrzewski, John Broda and St. Mosgowicz.
