A Serious Accident
Last Friday F. M. Darton of Beaver came in after a load shingles, having loaded his load he started on his return trip about noon when out about 4 miles from town in front of the farm residence of C. O. Graham he stopped to converse with a neighbor as he started again, he reached out to strike one of the horses with a line when he lost his balance and from the load falling in front of one of the wheels which passed over his body, his legs became tangled in one of the wheels, the team was stopped just in the nick of time to prevent his body being horribly mangeled (sic), he was picked up unconscious and conveyed to the home of C. Ewalt, medical aid was summoned and the injured man made as comfortable as possible, at the time no hopes entertained for his recovery, but at present he seems to be on the road to recovery.
