A fine, large oil painting of the late Walter D. McIndoe, by James R. Stuart, has been hung in the Historical Rooms, at Madison, Wisconsin. The picture was presented to the society by Walter Alexander, of Wausau. Mr. McIndoe was one of the pioneers of Marathon county; he was representative in congress from 1863 to 1867, and he died in 1872.
