M. Kaudy, departed, Monday morning, for a long trip. He will visit at several points in this state, at Kankakee, Illinois, and will then proceed to New York, from which city he will embark, at 12 o’clock noon, next Wednesday, the 16th, for his old home in France and Germany. Mr. Kaudy was born in France, not a great way from the historical city of Metz, but came to the United States more than 50 years ago. At the close the Franco-Prussian War, Lothringen and Elsass, which took in his birthplace, was ceded to Germany by France, in the treaty of peace. So Mr. Kaudy, though born in France, will visit his birthplace in Germany. The Phonograph wishes him a pleasant journey, a good visit and a safe return.

M. Kaudy who has been gone the past two months visiting in Europe returned home Tuesday morning. Mr. Kaudy visited his old home in France, also the city of Paris and other parts of the "vine clad hills" of the land of his nativity. Matt is looking twenty years younger; he has gained seven pounds in weight and in every way seems well repaid for his visit. We are all glad to see our old friend among us again.
