Burmeister, Cecil (28 Oct 1907 - 16 August 1914)
Cecil Burmeister, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Burmeister of Colby, was killed Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock when he fell from a horse’s back, after which a wagon wheel passed over his head, fracturing his skull. He was only six years old.
The little boy was visiting at the farm home of Mrs. Kate Gregorious, near Mackville. About three o’clock he went out into the fields, and as there were a lot of thistles there, someone placed him upon the back of one of the horses. The boy had been on the horse’s back but a few moments when the horse shied, throwing him to the ground, when the wheels of the wagon passed over him. - Appleton Crescent
