W. D. Fuller’s friends knowing it was near his fiftieth birthday, assisted by his wife and Mrs. Fiebig, gave him a genuine surprise Saturday evening. When forty-four assembled at his home, although very much surprised, he gave them a hearty greeting. They left him a token of remembrance. The evening was spent in playing cards, parchesee, croconole, music and a good time. From twelve to three, lunch was served by the hostess, assisted by Mesdames Fiebig and Conrad, to which all did ample justice after which they dispersed to their homes, wishing him many returns of his natal day.
