Haas, Alice Kathryn (Marriage - 28 NOV 1941)
Miss Alice Kathryn Haas of Withee and a graduate of St. Joseph’s school of nursing, Marshfield, became the bride of Clarence Strohkirch, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Strohkirch of Withee at a ceremony performed at three o’clock Friday afternoon in the parsonage of the Thorp Methodist church. The Rev. James Irish read the nuptial service.
Mrs. Kenneth Mathewson, a friend of the bride, and Leland Haas, the bride’s brother, were the couple’s only attendants.
The bride, who is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Haas of Withee, wore a brown suit with matching accessories. Her attendant was attired in a dress of blue crepe.
A five o’clock luncheon was served at the Stanley Hotel in the evening. Saturday evening a miscellaneous shower was held at the home of the bride’s parents with about 30 guests present.
Since Dec. 1, Mr. and Mrs. Strohkirch have been at home to their friends in the Meinhardt residence in Owen. The bridegroom is employed as a Clark county highway worker.
Mrs. Strohkirch, a graduate of the Withee high school, spent three years as a nurse at Holy Cross hospital in Merrill and one year at Memorial hospital in Wausau.
A tea and kitchen shower had been given in honor of the bride at Merrill before her marriage.
