Lipprandt,11. Olga Laura Pauline Lipprandt. My g-grandfather, Emil
Lipprandt, purchased his three lots of 80 acres each from the Wisconsin Central
Railroad Land Company in 1887. This land (Twp. Green Grove) was only sold until
the timber that the railroad used for ties and fuel were cut. Apparently the
tree cutting area extended about two miles South of the line between Abbotsford
and Owen as just to the South of our land in Green Grove, many large pines and
hardwoods remained. From what my father mentioned
to me, when my g-grandfather built the three farm houses for his sons, the pine
studs in the walls were cut into 15 to 20 foot 2X4's and the length of the walls
(of the studs) ran from the sill plate on the foundation to the roof rafters....
I would assume other older farm houses also were built this way. Regards, Bob~~
Descendants of Ernst Emil and Wilhelmine Karoline geb. Munzel Lipprandt

Ernst Emil Lipprandt: is the youngest son of Johann Christoph Leopold Lipprandt and
Johanne Christine geb. Kaufmann. He was born 11 October, 1843, in Großfahner, Kreis
Gotha, Herzogtum Sachsen-Koburg-Gotha (today known as the Province of Thüringen). He
has four siblings, Auguste Christa Henriette Lipprandt, Josephine Luisa Friederike Lipprandt, Johann Christian Leopold Lipprandt and August Wilhelm Lorenz Lipprandt.
Ernst Emil served in the Sachsen Military, most likely as a member of the Infantry, unit unknown and dates served are unknown. Ernst Emils occupation in Sachsen-Koburg-Gotha was a "Zimmermann", in English a carpenter. Lipprandt Family History Records show that Ernst Emil was the only child of Johann Christoph Leopold and Johanne Christine Lipprandt to
immigrate to America. The reason for this immigration is unknown. Ernst Emil immigrated
before the rest of his family, speculated to be about 1880. He purchased three 80 acre parcels of partially cleared land and built complete farm buildings for this three sons of the available white pine timber on his land.
Ernst Emil married Wilhelmina Karoline geb. Munzel in or around Großfahner, Kreis Gotha.
Wilhelminas parents were A. Munzel and A. geb. Eberhardt. It is believe that Ernst Emil
and Wilhelmina married in or near Großfahner, Kreis Gotha. The actual place of Wilhelminas
childhood is unknown at this time. Through Internet research, there is a Munzel family in
Kreis Gotha that was from a long line of Lutheran ministers although no connection has yet
been made. Wilhelmina immigrated approximately one to two years after Ernst Emil with the
two youngest sons, Alexander Wilhelm Herman and Richard Oscar in late 1880s. At the port
of entry, the "t" was left off of the Lipprandt surname but was restored upon arrival in Wisconsin.
Another son, Oscar Reinhold was serving time in the Sachsen Military. Although it has not been proven, there are indications that there was another child, a daughter older than the three boys that remained in Herzogtum Sachsen-Koburg-Gotha. Her name, married surname is unknown. Wilhelmina, in addition to being a homemaker was also a midwife.
Oscar Reinhold was the first born son of Ernst Emil and Wilhelmina Karoline. He had to delay his immigration to America because of prior mandatory military service commitments with the
Sachsen "Pioneers" (Engineers). Exact dates of his military service are unknown at this time.
His immigration date was about 1893. He married Laura Henriette geb. Schulte in the Town-
ship of Colby, Clark County on November 30, 1897. Three children were born to this union.
Olga Laura Pauline, Arthur and Otto Harry Oscar Heinrich. Olga died of a heart condition,
Arthur died a few days after his birth and Harry lived to adulthood and eventually inherited the "main farm" from Reinhold, sold the farm in 1951 and moved to the city of Medford, Taylor County.
Alexander Wilhelm Herman was the second born son of Ernst Emil and Wilhelmina Karoline.
Herman took on adult responsibilities of farming and helping his father after immigration.
Herman married Anna Marie geb. Trester in the Township of Colby, Clark County on March 17,
1906. Four children were born to this union. Walter Arthur Oscar, Lydia Ida, Helen Edna
Therese and Elvira Hilda. All four children lived to adulthood, only Walter did not having any
descendants.
Richard Oscar was the third born son of Ernst Emil and Wilhelmina Karoline. Oscar was
also a saw mill operator on his farm while he farmed the original 80 acres, then an additional
40 acres. Oscar was married twice but did not officially adopt the sons of either of his wives.
His first wife was Erna geb. Sturz and his second wife was Ida geb. Schultz Grube. Both
marriages took place in the Township of Colby, Clark County. This first marriage to Erna
ended in Divorce in 1923.
