Mortimer, George (1 January 1889
- 21 October 1968)
George Mortimer, 79, formerly of the Town of York,
died October 21, in Neillsville. Funeral services were held October 23, from the
York Center United Methodist Church. The Rev. Conrad Mickelson of Loyal and Rev.
Lee Holmes of Marshfield officiated. Burial was made in the York Center
Cemetery.
Mr. Mortimer was born January 1, 1889, in the town of York and
spent his lifetime there. He farmed the home farm of the Mortimer family until
his retirement. He entered Memorial Home in 1967. He had been, during his life,
very active in church affairs.
He is survived by a brother, Ray Mortimer
of Loyal.
Arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Milford Rowe, Rollie Benedict, Glenn Lavey, Clarence Hoesly,
Hank Voight and Herb Schnabel. Nyle Benedict sang, “In the Garden” and “Under
His Wings” accompanied by Mrs. Milford Rowe.

and Mrs. Harold Mortimer of Rock City, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. John Wierzenski and
Mrs. Donald Kier of Marshfield; and Merton Davis of Cameron.
