Papierniak, Anton (4 MAY 1871 - 26 SEP 1965)
Anton Papierniak, 94
years, 4 months and 22 days, passed away at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley,
of a stroke and other complications on Sunday, Sept. 26th, 1965.
Funeral
services were held at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church here on Thursday, Sept. 30th.
Father Ed Masalewicz officiated at the ten a.m. service and burial was in St.
Hedwig's Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ted, Leon, Louis and Don Papierniak,
Ed Wojtal and Richard Pabich.
Mr. Papierniak, a retired farmer, was born
May 4, 1871, in Jasto, Austria. He came to the states in 1883, residing in New
York and Cleveland until 1894, when he came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and has
since resided here. On July 3, 1893 at Cleveland, Ohio, he was united in
marriage to Julia Galinski, who passed away in November 1961.
Surviving
are four sons: John and Louis Papierniak of Thorp, Frank Papierniak of Chicago,
Anton Papierniak, Arlington, Virginia; five daughters, Marie Wojtal, Arlington,
Virginia, Anna Borysiewicz, Lemont, Ill., Josephine Pabich, Thorp, Frances
Swansen, Arlington, Virginia, Helene Holub, Chicago; 31 grandchildren and 54
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son Michael, in infancy,
four brother, one sister and one grandson, Edward Papierniak, who was lost in
action during World War II.
