Biddle, Louis
(Cheese Award - 10 NOV 1965)
A native of Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., was one
of two men to receive Wis. Cheese Makers' Association sweepstakes awards
Wednesday for his cheddar class entry.
Louis I. Biddle, 35, Soldiers
Grove, topped cheddar entries with 98 points out of 100. The other winner is
Albert Deppeler, Monroe, who topped the limburger division with 98.5 points.
Biddle is manager of the Golden Glow Cheese Factory. He won the state fair
governor's sweepstakes the last three eyars with aged cheddar and at the 1965
fair won first in medium cheddar. He also won the cheese makers' show last year.
A cheese maker for 15 years, Biddle attributed his success to good quality
milk. The plant turns out 3,500 pounds of cheese a day during the flush period.
Biddle started as a part time employee after leaving the service in World War
II.
