Alex Czech, 95,
passed away at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, on Saturday, Oct. 30th, 1965,
of old age.
Mr. Czech, a retired farmer, was born May 5, 1870. In 1889 he
was united in marriage to Justyna Zieniuk in Poland. They came to the states in
1910 and resided in Gilman, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and a couple years in
Lublin, until 1922 when they moved to Thorp.
Funeral services were held
at St. Hedwig's Chapel, Thorp, on Tuesday, Nov 3rd. Father Edward Masalewicz
officiated at the ten a.m. service and burial was in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leon Kaczmarek, Bernard Pokopiak, Joseph Twarowski, Chester
Zajack, Stanley Dubicki, and Adolph Czech.
Surviving is one son, Joseph
F. Czech of Thorp; one granddaughter, Mrs. Albert Kodl and eight
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in December 1944, one
brother Josefat, and one sister (Helen) Mrs. Casper Gryniewski.
