Koolmo, Wendell (19 MAR 1919 - 27 NOV 1965)

Wendell Koolmo, Gilman, 46, passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 1965 at the Veterans Hospital, Minneapolis.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday), Dec. 2nd at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Gilman, at ten a.m., Rev. John Dzurko officiating. Burial will be made in the Meadowbrook Cemetery.

Wendell was born March 19, 1919 at Menomonie. He was united in marriage to Lettie Margaret Filipiak at Anniston, Alabama on Oct. 21, 1944. Koolmo, the operator of Koolmo's Club and Ballroom, Gilman, came to his present home near Gilman 17 years ago. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, Gilman Lions, and American Legion post 359 at Gilman. He served in World War II from 1941 to 1945.

Surviving are his wife Lettie, two daughters, (Carol) Mrs. Gregory Swatzina, Racine, Alice at home, his mother, Mrs. Hilda Koolmo, Minneapolis, one brother, Virgil, of Minneapolis, one sister, Mavis Hunter, of La Crosse, and one grandchild.
