Irene M. Toltzman, 83, Spencer, passed away peacefully
away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, with her
family by her side. Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, March 9, at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. Rev. David DePaoli officiated. Burial was in
Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Spencer.
Irene Foth was born on April 17, in
Spencer, the daughter of Myron and Sophia (nee Hupe) Foth. She attended Brighton
Country School, worked as a babysitter, and later worked at the Dairybelt in
Spencer. On June 10, 1950 she married Delmer Toltzman at Trinity Lutheran Church
in Spencer. She was a loving and caring mother who enjoyed doing simple things
in life. Irene liked helping others, especially her family. She especially
enjoyed playing games, making crafts, quilting, knitting, crocheting and swing
(she made all of her children’s clothes). She had a big garden and canned for
the family every year. She was a wonderful cook and baker and loved baking for
her grandchildren. She had many different talents.
Irene is survived by
her husband, Delmer; five children, Cheryl (Gene) Knoll, Medford, Carla (Don)
Dommer, Spencer, David (Jean) Toltzman, Spencer, Duane Toltzman, Spencer, and
Dean Toltzman, Spencer; Seven grandchildren, Melissa (Ryan) Pilgrim, Jonathon
(Molly) and Christopher Knoll all of Medford, Stacy (Jeff) Diedrich, Marathon,
Nicholas (Kayann Kalepp) Dommer and Joshua (Tiffany Esser) and Sierra Toltzman,
Spencer; seven great grandchildren, Madisyn, Aliyah and Treyton Pilgrim,
Medford, Carleigh and baby Diedrich, Marathon, and Brady and Kinsley Kalepp,
Medford; her siblings, Bobby Foth, Belvidere, Ill., Ardene Caswell, Milwaukee,
Dennis, Dennis (Gayle) Foth, Spencer, and Russell (Ann) Foth, Spencer;
sister-in-law, Emily Johnson, Spencer, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Sophia Foth;
and a brother, Armin Foth.
Those wishing to make an expression of
sympathy and are encouraged to do so in Irene’s name to the Lutheran Hour;
Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer; or the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aide.
