Mavis J. Gordee, 84, Marshfield, died on
Friday, March 15, 2013, at Miller Alternative Care in Marshfield. Funeral
services will be held at11 a.m., on Monday, .March 25, at Faith Lutheran Church,
Marshfield. Rev. Tricia Turner will officiate. Visitation will be held on
Monday, March 25, from 10-11 a.m., at the church. Burial will follow in Immanuel
Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Marshfield.
Pallbearers will be Mavis’ eight grandchildren.
Mavis Jeanette Fohrman
was born on March 31, 1928, in March Rapids, the daughter of William and Lorna
(nee Pieper) Fohrman. She graduated from Loyal High School and attended
cosmetology school in Fond du lac following graduation. She was a hair dresser
in Greenwood. On May 19, 1951, Mavis and Earl Gordee were married in Ripplinger.
The couple farmed west of Greenwood for years, where Mavis raised her children
and was a homemaker. She later worked in various positions and then became a
cook at the Marshfield High School until her retirement in 1990. Mavis enjoyed
crafting (especially Macrame) and love to visit the casino with her friends.
Mavis is survived by her children, Allen Gordee, Poinette, Diane Shuman,
Lakewood, Wash., and Brenda (Robert) Dieringer, Marshfield; her grandchildren,
Bradley (Jackie) Gordee, McFarland, Monica (Brandon) Clemens, Poynette, Ryan
(Jacklyn) Shuman, Tacoma, Wash., Kellie Shuman, Tacoma, Wash., Matthew (Tami)
Dieringer, Chaska, Minn., Keri (Jon) Pankratz, Marshfield, William (Ann)
Dieringer, Marshfield, and Angela (Fiance Justin Eloranta) Dieringer, Omaha,
Neb.; nine great-grandchildren, Julia, Anika, Josie, Ashton, Rylan, Ryan,
Kayleb, Corbin, and Babt Pankratz; and one sister, Lucille Miller, Loyal.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; and a
brother-in-law, Clarence Miller.
Mavis’ family would like to thank the
staff of Miller Alternative Care for their wonderful care during the past four
years. It is greatly appreciated.
