Kenneth R. Bauer, 80, formerly of Loyal, died on Saturday, March
23, 2013 at his home. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday,
March 27, at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home, Monroe. Rev. Michael Klarer
officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Kenneth Bauer was born on
March 14, 1933, in Loyal, the son of Roland and Beatrice (nee Hubing) Bauer. He
served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart.
Kenneth married Yvonne Eddy on May 25, 1955, in Loyal. He worked for Crandalls
Inc. for 25 years, and Layer worked for the Swiss Colony. He was a member of St.
Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victors Catholic Church, American Legion Zilmer
Riley Post #84, V.F.W. Cecil Jones Post #2312, Disabled American Veterans,
Paralyzed Veterans, and Knight’s of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking, restoring
old tractors, watching the birds and squirrels, and he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Bauer, Monroe; a son, Tim (Jeri) Bauer,
Monroe; a daughter, Dawn (Paul) Grinnell, Monroe; eight grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Virginia Seefluth, Wisconsin Rapids,
Arlene (Tony) Mondloch, New Richmond, and Mae Trampuch, Loyal.
He was
preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Scott Allen Bauer and Jeffrey
Richard Bauer; and two brothers, Wallace Bauer and Sylvester Bauer.
